Learning the ART of self love

One 'mark' at a time

One Mark at a Time

  • When I sense fear, stress, or anxiety, 'Marks that Matter' is my go-to strategy.
  • Spending 30 minutes daily engaging in self-chat with my mind is crucial.
  • Self-chat plays a critical role in mental functions like problem-solving, reasoning, and planning.
  • It leads the mind to the creative zone, where mistakes are welcome, risk-taking is encouraged, and playfulness is embraced.
  • Shifting the mind from the present to the unknown awakens the inner child to explore and understand the world in new ways.
  • Cultivating self-awareness through this practice enhances mental well-being in both the short and long term.
  • Each mark made signifies a significant moment or feeling of the day, fostering deeper focus, acceptance, and reflection.
  • 'Marks that Matter' is a potent tool that centers on the small moments in daily life, such as the morning sun or a kind gesture from a stranger.
  • Our minds tend to remember negative experiences more than positive ones to help us avoid repeating mistakes.
  • Training our minds to focus on the positives can shift this default tendency.

What is ABstract ART?

ab*stract art

Abstract art comes in many forms, such as painting, sculpture, photography, collage, textiles and illustration (to name a few)

"Creativity is intelligence having fun."

Albert Einstein

Why is Abstract Art so important for you and your mind?

  • It fosters creative thinking and sparks imagination.
  • It promotes thinking 'outside the box', stimulating the brain to generate new neurons.
  • It boosts individuals' confidence, especially aiding young minds struggling to replicate artwork, by affirming their creativity.
  • It introduces minds to cultural links and influential artists who have reshaped perceptions of art.
  • It inspires individuals to think innovatively, take risks, explore new ways to create meaningful impressions, and cultivate curiosity.
  • It encourages expressing thoughts visually, especially beneficial when communicating face-to-face is challenging, by crafting our visual narratives and beliefs.
